Candidates preparing for the AISSEE Exam must have detailed knowledge of the Exam Pattern and Syllabus. The AISSEE Exam is conducted in one shift, for class 6th, four major subjects are covered: Mathematics, General Knowledge, Language, and Intelligence & for class 9th, five major subjects are covered: Mathematics, General Science, Social Science, Intelligence, and English.

There is no negative marking. A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools if he/she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of the exam and 40% marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE Time is allotted 2:30 Hrs for the Exam.
AISSEE Eligibility Criteria:
- For admission in Class 6th: Students must be in Class 5th between 10 – 12 years on 31st March. Students who are in class 6 and their age is between 10 – 12 years can also apply.
- The age criteria for girls are the same as for boys.
- For admission in Class 9th: Students must be in Class 5th between 10 – 12 years on 31st March. Students who are in class 6 and their age is between 10 – 12 years can also apply.
- The age criteria for girls are the same as for boys.
