AFCAT Eligibility Criteria:
Flying Branch
Age Limit: Candidates who want to apply for the flying branch should be between 20 to 24 years. The upper age limit for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable for up to 26 years.
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch
Age Limit: The age of the candidates who want to apply for ground duty should be between 20 to 26 years.
Note: The age limit for female candidates in the Flying Branch and both Technical and Non-Technical branches is the same as for male candidates.
Educational Qualification:
Flying Branch:
- Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% marks in both Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
- The Candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognised University with at least 60% marks.
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical)Branch:
- Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in both Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
- The candidate must have a graduation degree in Engineering from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks.
Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible for the AFCAT Exam. Female candidates can apply only for the Short Service Commission, not the Permanent Commission.
Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible for the AFCAT Exam; issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees who have not remarried are eligible.
