This innovative tool, launched by the Digital Intelligence Unit (DIU) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), categorizes mobile numbers as Medium, High, or Very High risk for financial fraud. By utilizing the FRI, banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) providers can strengthen their defences, ensuring a safer banking experience for customers.
- Recently, the Union Minister of Jal Shakti inaugurated the C-FLOOD platform, which stands for “Unified Inundation Forecasting System.” Developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in Pune alongside the Central Water Commission (CWC), this innovative system is part of the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM), supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). C-FLOOD aims to significantly enhance flood forecasting capabilities, promoting safety and resilience for vulnerable communities.
