- Recently, Indian Railways signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) to install a Machine Vision-Based Inspection System (MVIS). Machine Vision Based Inspection System (MVIS) uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to inspect trains in real time for better maintenance and safety. It is a wayside system that captures high-resolution images of the moving train under-gear. It detects hanging, loose, or missing parts and sends real-time alerts for quick action.
- Recently, the Assam government approved the ‘Gajah Mitra’ initiative, aiming to protect both local communities and elephant populations by creating safe habitats and employing non-violent deterrents in conflict-prone areas.
- Recently, a caracal was spotted in Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary, Madhya Pradesh, after 20 years. This is a rare and significant sighting of the threatened wild cat species in the state.
